My first grade students are learning to
read.
Yesterday one of them pointed at a
picture in a zoo book and said, "Look at this! It's a frickin'
elephant!'
I took a deep breath, then asked . . . "What did you call it?"
"It's a frickin' elephant!
It says so on the picture!"
And so it does . . .

Think you're a Pisces? You're not!
The observation of the sun's path through the constellations was first established about 2,200 years ago but things have changed. Due to precession of the earth's orbit the sun is now in the following (see below) constellations at these times of year. So 2,200 years ago I may have been a Aquarius (Jan 25th) but now I'm a Capricorn. I can hear you all saying "So that's what's accounts for his uncharacteristic behavior lately." Don't worry I'll be back to my old self in about 23,600 years when I'll have been everything else and will be back to being an Aquarius again.
Capricorn - Jan 20 to Feb 16
Aquarius - Feb 16 to Mar 11
Pisces - Mar 11 to Apr 18
Aries - Apr 18 to May 13
Taurus - May 13 to Jun 21
Gemini - Jun 21 to Jul 20
Cancer - Jul 20 to Aug 10
Leo - Aug 10 to Sep 16
Virgo - Sep 16 to Oct 30
Libra - Oct 30 to Nov 23
Scorpius - Nov 23 to Nov 29
Ophiuchus - Nov 29 to Dec 17
Sagittarius - Dec 17 to Jan 20
So how does this affect all who believe in the pseudoscience of astrology. Excuses and justifications are waiting in the wings. Just you wait.
See the embedded article below for the gory details.
Thanks to Joel Baumbaugh for the interesting forward.
