I had heard that story. Are you sure it isn't an urban myth?
If it had been guys the opposing team would have gone over and stomped the runner to death...

Roger,
True. Another reason to be grateful there are women among us.

This short clip will stick with me for a long time and you're right. It did make me think about what's important.
I thought too about what Roger said and think he may be too hard on his gender after all I'm assuming Dave is male and he posted it.
Love,
Sandrine

Sportsmanship ! At last some people have realised what games are about. I have heard of the occasional, very occasional of similar acts of graciousness and I treasure them.
I had an interesting discussion with my soccer mates the other day, some of whom considered fouling to be an acceptable part of the game which you use on certain necessary occasions to prevent a goal or really dangerous play. You know there are consequences and you have balanced the cost of them against the benefit to your team.
I was horrified because for me, fouling is outside the game. If the other guy is better than you, he deserves to win. Games are a fun challenge and I am happy to pit my skill and stamina against the next guy but one has to win by playing within the rules. For me it is an admission of failure to resort to a foul.
Regrettably it seems that I most of the sports world disagrees and certainly there seem to be very few paid professionals that consistently act in a sportsmanlike fashion.
Spread the word, games are for fun
Chris
PS Dave is male, a very gently male but definitely male!
